Social Work in Lucena Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
Social Workers in Lucena Clinic aim to deliver a high quality therapeutic service in working with families alongside our colleagues on multidisciplinary teams and sometimes in liaison with professionals in other agencies.
Our Social Workers as part of the multidisciplinary team assist in carrying out comprehensive assessments of young people, taking into account their family and social contexts. We have expertise in working with children and families from a perspective which is grounded in systems theory, the social sciences and social justice.
Social Workers aim to help mobilise the resources of the child and family in finding solutions to their difficulties. We do so by providing a variety of therapeutic interventions including individual, family and group therapies. We use approaches that are evidence based and in keeping with principals of best practice.
Our Social Workers are committed to on-going professional development and have close links with Irish Universities. We also provide practice placements for social work students in training.
Social Workers in the Lucena Clinical are regulated by a statutory body – The National Body for Registration of Health Professionals (CORU) - and work within its professional and ethical guidelines.
The Head of Social Work in Lucena Clinic is Mary McNamara.
